Do you have an idea for a session? Would you like to host a talk, run a workshop, screen a film or facilitate an activity that grows the curriculum of AGS?*
Anti-Gentrification School (AGS) is a school in process, with a grassroots curriculum built for and by Rotterdam based cultural workers, activists, students and residents to collectively learn, unlearn and grow strategies to resist gentrification within our communities. We start with the mindset that we all have something to share and something to learn, and that all of our questions, stories and concerns can help us to map our entanglement and even complicity in the process of gentrification. Meeting roughly every two weeks, the school gathers in different locations in the city, from neighbourhood community spaces, art initiatives to squatted buildings.
We’re hoping to plan sessions for 2022 so get in contact with us on Insta or email us: cultural.workers.unite[at]gmail.com if you have an idea you’d like to test out.
*Anti-Gentrification School is attempting to run on a kind of solidarity economy, we do not receive funding or wages and so cannot pay a fee. We can help source materials you may need for the session, and are interested in exchanging labour or resources in return for your labour.

Heb je een idee voor een sessie? Wilt u een lezing houden, een workshop geven, een film vertonen of een activiteit faciliteren die het curriculum van AGS doet groeien?*
Anti-Gentrification School (AGS) is een school in wording, met een grassroots curriculum gebouwd voor en door Rotterdamse culturele werkers, activisten, studenten en bewoners om collectief strategieën te leren, af te leren en te laten groeien om ons te verzetten tegen gentrificatie binnen onze gemeenschappen. We beginnen met de gedachte dat we allemaal iets te delen en iets te leren hebben, en dat al onze vragen, verhalen en zorgen ons kunnen helpen om onze verstrikking en zelfs medeplichtigheid in het proces van gentrificatie in kaart te brengen. De school komt ongeveer om de twee weken samen op verschillende locaties in de stad, van buurtgemeenschapsruimtes en kunstinitiatieven tot kraakpanden.

*Anti-Gentrification School probeert te draaien op een soort solidaire economie, we ontvangen geen financiering of loon en kunnen dus geen vergoeding betalen. We kunnen helpen met het vinden van materialen die je nodig hebt voor de sessie, en zijn geïnteresseerd in het uitwisselen van arbeid of middelen in ruil voor jouw arbeid.
