#9 How tenants became their own landlords: Zelfbeheer Hoek Teilingerstraat

We are back again in 2022 with renewed energies and excitement! For this session we would like to invite you North, in the -not-so-slowly- gentrified ZOHO area, to meet with Bewonersvereniging Zelfbeheer Hoek Teilingerstraat that self-managed their rental apartments since 1994. We will meet in a nearby artist atelier space who offered to be our hosts. We ask what is self-management and what does it entail? How does it affect a neighbourhood and can it slow down gentrification? Under which conditions is self-management possible and what can we do to ensure it will remain a possibility in the future?As always, there will be some food available, bring along snacks or drinks if you are able to contribute. We will follow covid safety guidelines keeping distance and wearing masks. We encourage everyone to do a self-test before joining to ensure everyone’s safety.

19.00 – 21.00 @ Benthemstraat 30, Rotterdam 3032AAWe zijn weer terug in 2022 met hernieuwde energie en spanning! Voor deze sessie nodigen we u graag uit in Noord, op het -niet zo langzaam- gentrified ZOHO gebied, om kennis te maken met Bewonersvereniging Zelfbeheer Hoek Teilingerstraat die sinds 1994 hun huurappartementen in zelfbeheer hebben. We ontmoeten elkaar in een plaatselijk kunstenaarsatelier dat heeft aangeboden onze gastheer te zijn. We vragen wat zelfbeheer is en wat het inhoudt. Wat is de invloed ervan op een buurt en kan het gentrificatie afremmen? Onder welke voorwaarden is zelfbeheer mogelijk en wat kunnen we doen om ervoor te zorgen dat het ook in de toekomst mogelijk blijft?Zoals altijd zal er wat te eten zijn, breng hapjes of drankjes mee als je in staat bent om bij te dragen. We zullen de covid veiligheidsrichtlijnen volgen en afstand houden en maskers dragen. We moedigen iedereen aan om een zelftest te doen voordat je meedoet om ieders veiligheid te garanderen.
